Turning the Tide

As I’ve started the Kickstarter campaign, the biggest question I’ve been getting is why 100%? why would you give 100% of album sales to the Students of Northrise University?  “That seems crazy,” or “what’s the catch???”

Well here is your answer.

For years now, local musicians, even musicians signed to a record label lose massive amounts of album sale profits to online piracy and illegal sharing. So any re-cooperation on the investment is very, very difficult. Most musicians see most of their positive income in merchandising, publishing management (songs used in TV/Movies etc) and live concerts.

So, I thought, what if you gave people a motivation to not only buy a record legally, but share it, and even gift it to friends. It could grow exponentially! What if as a consumer you not only could get great music, but fund an amazing organization. I picked the students of Northrise, because Zambia is near and dear to my heart. However, if Kickstarter could be used to be free and clear of record company obligations, an artist could choose any amount to give to anyone in need. Imagine that ramification.

I chose 100% to make a statement. I’m making a statement to artists  and fans can that we can pave a new way to tackle needs around the world.

Will you be apart of the 100%???
