So there, I said it. I’ve decided to forgo the country cover band project and begin writing and recording my first solo project (actually I’ve been working on material for some time). Additionally, I’ve also brought on a producer. Going in, here are a few guidelines that I’ve setup as parameters for the project:
1) There may or may not be traditional pop song forms on the record.
2) The album will be presented as a complete body of work, as in, all the songs will deal with one central theme.
3) The album will have significant ambient jazz fusion and traditional music composition influence.
4) I will use the book, Making Ideas Happen, by Scott Belsky to organize my ideas and workflow. (Action Method)
